Cheap Things to Do in Miami w/ Sonia Gil – Let’s Roam Miami

Hello, I’m Courtney Scott. And I am Sonia
Gil. And we are down in Miami in Sonia’s home town on the hunt for the coolest free and
cheap things to do in town. In New York City I once survived for 2 weeks eating only free
food. And it just so happens that I host my own at SoniaGil.com and my expertise is finding
those free or almost free gems that only locals know about. I’m dragging Courtney along to one of Miami’s
best kept secrets. Free yoga every day 7am on the beach. Ok everybody welcome to a special
edition of Beach Yoga! Inhale. Exhale. Downward dog. Inhale. Exhale. Ok Sonia, so here in South Beach you could
eat five star dining every night of the week, but that’s not what we’re after today. No it is not Courtney. Today we are going
to Las Olas Cafe which is a classic spot in Miami. Ok so what’s the special? $3.99 breakfast,
which includes eggs, potatoes and you gotta get a cuban coffee. The South Beach diet! We’re only steps from Ocean Drive. steps from
all of the big hotels, and you walk into a place like this and you really feel like you’re
in Havana. I know you’re envious. You should be! Alright so it was a $5 donation at yoga with
a beautiful sunrise. $3.99 each for a huge breakfast at Las Olas. Sonia, what’s next? What’s next is getting around. And South is
actually very small it’s only 17 streets and they have a wonderful bike sharing program
where $4 bucks gets you half an hour. I love biking when I travel and I know that you do
too, so this is right up our alley. Here you go, super simple. Push button to get bike. There are very few places that i’ve been in
the world where you can actually bike right on the sand. The best free thing about Miami?
You gotta lay down on the beach! Get a little book, a little blanket, a little sun, sea,
not bad Sonia. Not bad huh? So if you want to learn more about how to
travel on the cheap, if you wanna learn more about Miami or see more of the lovely Sonia
Gil, like, comment and subscribe. Ciao!

I hate being technical but the $13 for the day only covered breakfast and a few hours. Factor in lunch, dinner and night entertainment and it goes way more $

I'm not impressed, this is free things in Miami Beach not Miami.
You can get yoga at Bayfront Park at 6PM for free. You can also go bike riding there and just look around for a cheap Cuban restaurant anywhere. Nothing impressive or new.
Instead of biking you can just walk, there's so much to see at Miami Beach

a trip to miami without visiting bars and nightlife is incomplete; if you want to party for free, around summer and spring break hit up 7th street on South Beach; that is where all the college kids and fraternities gather, you can probably get some free drinks from there; nearly all cuban restaurants run for similar prices as that, for the best ones you should probably look around 8th street, La Palma is my favorite, open 24 hours, it's packed with locals late in to the early mornings; parking is hard even for the locals on south beach, so expect to pay some money there, other than that the best free/cheap things to do would be hanging at the beach or strolling around Wynwood and eating from the food trucks (a trip to miami is incomplete without a visit to winnowed) happy traveling

Totally fun and lots of great suggestions. I've only been to the early morning beach yoga once, but it was super fun.

$13 for a day….you only ate fatty breakfast, pay $5 for a yoga "class"…and $ for half hour bike ride…not the best choices to use $13

In Serbia, South Europe rent a bicycle for one hour 20 dinars =
0.20666 USD, and All day 100 dinars= 1.03332 USD ; then the food is very cheap hamburger costs 150 RSD=
1.54998 USD, watermelons in season cost 10-50 dinars per/Kg and watermelons are heavy and weigh 15 pounds.
Make more effort and find real cheap places! Not free stretching ! Otherwise you are both very Cute!

Wow, so the day is like 2 hours long, you don't eat very much, and despite using the word 'free' about 20 times the only 'free' thing you can do is go to the beach – wow! such a great tip, I would never have thought of the beach in Miami!

S4 for a 30 min bike hire is expensive. That is S 192 per day. You can buy a second hand bike for that kind of money or rent a car.

Roam Miami… stays in Miami Beach. Don’t bother with Wynwood, Brickell, Midtown, or any other locations in Miami.

$4 for 30 min is expensive. Also that breakfast was $3.99 but the fresh squeeze orange juice you have on the table costs $5.99, and add $2.99 for coffee. Where is lunch ? Dinner ? Misleading video. Miami is as expensive as NYC.

Not a fair informative video. The cost of parking was not mentioned. Breakfast was $3.99 but the Cuban toast or beverages probably was extra. Yoga may have been free but obviously there was a donation fee for that. Plus who wants to rent a bike for 30 minutes!
