    Once the plane leaves the gate, the clock should start, and if the plane hasn't taken off after 2 hours should be required to go back to the terminal. Letting passengers just exit the plane without their luggage is ridiculous. If a plane is held from take off, it should inconvenience the airport, not the passengers.

    I have a similar story!! I had a flight to Mexico City a while back but my flight kept getting delayed due to technical difficulties. We got on and off different airplanes 3 different times. My original departure time was around 10:00 am and we didn't leave the ground until about 8:00 pm….that would be a 10 hour delay also at JFK airport….tho the airline was JetBlue.

    Try philippines. Our number one delayed airline is CEBU PACIFIC. all of its flights and not just 8 hrs they cancel flights for no reason. We can afford so we still take ang pray.

    I love to fly. Not a huge fan of airline travel anymore. The service has gone way down well the airlines have continued to make profits. It all comes at the price of customer service. I just would rather drive a lot of places. I live in Michigan. And I have to say I'd rather drive to Florida and just take time to stop and sleep and have my car and my own peace of mind when I got there.

    Again, just another way the European Union is superior to United States. When the United States had the ability to implement are passengers Bill of Rights, the airlines lobbyists blocked it. But the EU has it and compensates, financially compensates airline passengers broom this type of unacceptable bullshit Airlines. People need to stop saying the United States is the greatest country in the world… We lag behind the EU and other developed countries on so many areas in so many Industries most fundamental ways! Universal Health Care, FREE college education, nonexistent mass shootings, better records on human rights… European Union states Excel! How is the United States greatest country in the world again??

    Part of the reason I don't fly anymore, haven't flown in years! First off, I am 6 – 6 and there is no where near enough leg room for me. Flying had become an adventure in pain! The lack of respect and appreciation the airlines display for their PAYING customers is truly appalling. I have decided, 'I have the money, you want the money, make me happy or I and my wallet are outa' here!' Until more people start thinking and acting like me the airlines will never improve. The airlines Suck!

    Wow, eight hours without proper food. People can thank the airline CEO for being so cheap and thank the the liberals who voted for deregulation of the airlines so that the Airline CEO can maximize on profits at the expense of passengers comfort and safety.

    Trap me in an airplane for 8 hours without food and I will sue for millions of dollars.

    and besides I rather fly private because you get treated with respect and dignity.

    Crying shame American Airlines can not fly CAT III like Pan Am Airlines did.
    Airlines to cheap to pay for very low visibility flight training and proper equipment for the aircraft.

    Only stupid people allow airlines to treat them like that.
    When I complain I always get free airline tickets, food vouchers, cash money by the hundreds, and a free rental car and free hotel stays and free delivery of my baggage to my house, hotel, etc. One time it was delivered deep in the Amazon Jungle. Lovely. Life is good.

    This is fucking unacceptable. Delta pulled the same bullshit with the flight from Chattanooga to Atlanta today with a 6 hour delay!!! All because of mechanical issues that should’ve been taken care of overnight.

    Every airline is the worst! Something happens which the airline or staff has no control over automatically it’s the worst smh. Y’all need help! Even Airlines such as Emirates or Singapore or Qatar all of them is the worst! You cannot please people. Smh the ignorance is real. I have personally witnessed a passenger saying she was gonna drag the airline down just because they canceled her flight due to a hurricane approaching, her sister said she was gonna tweet she saw roaches just because they were upset and this ALWAYS HAPPENS. This airline did offer snacks, did offer a shuttle…what y’all wanted for them to offer Dallas BBQ or some fillet mignon and a glass of Moët? Fuck outta here lmao

    FYI .. as long as the reason for the delay is not what they refer to as "an act of God", like a snow storm etc., we as passengeers, have the right to compensation, under the MONTREAL CONVENTION TREATY, delayed baggage or delayed flight for more than 3 hours .. will be compensated by the airlines!!! Please read the Montreal Convention Treaty, and know your rights as a passenger … if I'm nor mistaken $3,500 is the compensation amount for domestic flight delays .. don't quote me on that though.. best to find out for yourself..

    I thought pilots were only supposed to work a certain amount of time before mandatory rest to avoid mistakes caused by fatigue?
