The food on your ANA flight didn’t look too bad at all. I have fond memories of JAL's Indian-style curry and papadum, which came with the vegetarian meal. I haven’t flown ANA, but my cousin Miyuki was a JAL stewardess in the first class section in the 70s. She was so glamorous!

The food looked fantastic compared to any US based airlines. Seriously, you do not want to fly on a US carrier in Economy class trans-Pacific if you can help it.

Love watching airplane food reviews, I'm not sure why, heh.

    Lack of sleep on the plane plagued me and my sister when we traveled to Japan last year, I think it's just a plane thing, they're so uncomfortable >.<;

    全日空は何年も前にタイ航空とのシェア便で乗ったのが最後ですね。今はLCCに乗ることが多くなったので…でも、アメリカまでならマイル&快適さ(食事、お酒含む)を考えるとコスパ良いかもしれませんね。エコノミーでこの食事は大変魅力的です😍イングリッシュマフィンもどれくらい固いのか気になります(笑)

Last time I flew to NY was about 5 years ago… wish I'd gone ANA or anything else. United is so bad it makes Delta look good… 🙁

ANA Flight was indeed top notch. Service was outstanding! All the meals i had were nothing to complain about. Inflight entertainment was also good, but the hostesses were super friendly, best flight ever!

I might be a weirdo but I actually hated ANA, and only fly United. I always get the ANA boarding music stuck in my head 😩

I flew ANA last month from Haneda to JFK and had the exact same meals as Shinichi! I loved the chicken curry and langue de chat. I wish they offered an additional ice cream flavor, but I guess vanilla is a safe choice.
Service is always excellent. They need to upgrade their inflight entertainment system though.

You made me kinda jealous for never flying with ANA… 🙂 I had bunch of bad flight, and bunch of ok-good flights… but the best flight I ever had was with Virgin Atlantic about 8 years ago, it was really good and the best flight I ever had 🙂

My Wife and I flew ANA from Houston, TX to Narita in 2016. We flew economy and felt the service was outstanding. As you said, the service made the flight very enjoyable. We are going back to Japan later this year and we'll be flying ANA both ways.

Wow, guys!  Everything looked amazing!  I have never been on a flight where meals are served so I really have nothing to compare it to, but other than tired, you guys looked like you were treated well and were very comfortable.  Thanks for sharing your experience! 🙂

We fly ANA every year for years from Washington DC to Tokyo and then onto Bangkok with a week layover in Tokyo on return fight. We agree with you in that the food is so-so but the service is excellent due to the Japanese hospitality. I am actually not surprised that you find the airline food to be average considering all the great restaurants you have been to in Tokyo. Thanks again for your recommendation of Kisoji Akasaka. We went there for lunch in December and it was great. Finally, welcome to the east coast!

Turkish Airlines ATL to BCN was amazing. Service was great, and best food in the biz, even in economy. I had the Indian vegetarian, and was very impressed.

Flew with ANA on my recent trip Jakarta – Tokyo – Jakarta. The service from the crews was excellent. I wish I had more food tho, for 7.5 hours flight, the amount of food given was not enough. Overall, It was a nice flight.

Japanese carriers are wonderful. It's VERY difficult for any airline to heat a quality Japanese entrée. You guys are great! Loved video. A positive 10!

We did same trip in January, the food Tokyo-NY was very nice , in the way back very poor , only 1 meal and for what supposed to be breakfast we got some frozen bun . Terrible service and terrible crew . Tokyo – NY was amazing flight with amazing crew not sure what happened there.

You both should have gone for the special vegan meal. I flew with ANA a few years ago and the meal I got, before anybody else, was really nice. Plus the width of my economy seat was fantastic – no more fat caucasian westerners elbowing me.

I booked with ANA from Vancouver to Japan and was very happy with the service and efficiency.

Departure and arrival was on time. I can't count how many times its taken a veey long time to depart. The service was great, great movies and features. Food was very good for the most part but it is on a plane so I'm not going to be overly critical.

I'm going to book with then again this year for sure though

The English muffin got hard and chewy because it got warmed up in a microwave. When bread gets microwave, it becomes precisely like that. Perhaps they should keep the muffin separate from the rest of the meal, and warm it up in a different manner? Or just keep them out of cold storage and serve them room temperature?

International flights even leaving the US have much better food than domestic flights. A domestic flight even if you are flying to California would not have food like this and most domestic flights give you a bottle of water and a little bag of peanuts!

When I fly internationally I usually sleep so I miss my meals and they will leave me whatever there was to drink in the mail I've woken up before to the sealed dessert and a small bottle of red wine! 🙂

    Hola from Perú!
I love your videos guys, I'm watching them once again to get in the mood for my next trip to Japan this may hahaha Keep on with so good material!

I flew on ANA one of the times I went to Japan and, for me, it's my favorite airline. The service is really good, and all the japanese food and treats are so yummy.

The basic rule is, choose Japanese style food if you fly from Japan and go for western style food when you fly from outside Japan.

I couldn't help but find ANA quite average compared to other airline's I've flown. I've flown to and from Japan so much that I've lost count. I wouldn't have a problem with ANA if they weren't so expensive. They market themselves as a premium airline but they are only comparable to many other airlines operating long-haul to Japan. They're kind of worse in a couple of areas like in-flight entertainment and seat design. The entertainment is mostly Japanese movies and TV with only a small selection of English movies and almost non-existent English TV choices. Their seats on the Dreamliner are really hard and small, the screen is also smaller than on other airlines and this was my biggest peeve, the screen's angle can't be adjusted if the person in front of you decides to recline making it almost impossible to view. Anyway, ANA are "ok" but they clearly only cater to Japanese tastes and expectations. For the same or cheaper, you can get a similar or better experience on another airline. My recent flight on JAL between Haneda and London was a lot better than ANA's, for instance.

You have a lot of fish dishes for breakfast in Japan? As far as that English muffin…They probably put it in microwave to reheat and that makes them chewy.Best way is light toast straight from toaster.

Thanks for the video fellas. I’ll be flying ANA for my very first trip to Japan next year. I couldn’t pass on that $500 round trip price.
