Hi everyone my name is Edin and welcome back to my another video! Today I am going to share with you 3 websites that you may find it useful when planning your air travel. I know that most of you will try to search for cheaper air tickets for your vacation or your business trip, but unfortunately, the whole process is time-consuming. Also you have to consider where your mileage should be credited. That’s why in here I am trying to save your time when you are planning for your journey. So let’s get started! So the first website that I am going to share with you today is called Momondo. So basically this is a third-party search engine website for cheap air tickets just like what Skyscanner, Expedia and Kayak will do for you. But the purpose I share this website to you is that This website can even search for cheaper prices by comparing with those famous websites. In order to show you this, I am going to have a demonstration between A flight from Hong Kong to New York, 1 Adult, Return flight, Economy Class Depart from 24/5 and return on 31/5. So I am going to search for the cheapest airfare from here At the same time that Momondo is searching the airfare I am going to do the same thing at Skyscanner, so as to let you guys know the differences between the airfares. So after waiting for a while, you can see Momondo gives you a wide variety of search results. And I choose the filter starting from the cheapest option, which is HKD$4693 From Hong Kong to New York onboard China Eastern Airlines, with a stop-over at Shanghai. And the economy class return fare is HKD$4693. While in Skyscanner, you can see the cheapest airfare is HKD$4986. By comparing with the two airfares here, You can see there is a few hundred dollars differences between the search results from these two websites, so that means what I’ve said is true, which is you can search even cheaper prices when you are using Momondo, the website here. So if you guys didn’t know Momondo in the past, I hope that you can try to use it, since it can help you to save even more. So now I am going to do another demonstration again. So this time I changed the filter from economy class to business class And the destination is changed to be Sydney, Australia. And the date of departure and return are the same, so I am going to search it in Momondo here. At the same time, I am going to find the result of the airfare in Skyscanner as well, given the input are the same in Momondo. So here is the search result. So here from Hong Kong to Sydney, A return trip in business class, the cheapest airfare given is HKD$11011, onboard Vietnam Airlines, from Hong Kong to Sydney. So now here in Skyscanner, given the same information, And the cheapest airfare searched from Skyscanner is HKD$11299. Again, comparing with these two airfares, you can see the result searched in Momondo is even a few hundred dollars more cheaper than Skyscanner, even in business class. Even though the price difference is not huge, but Momondo is undeniably cheaper when searching airfares, to be honest. So if you guys want to search for cheaper airfares, you can try to consider using Momondo this website, which sometimes can give you some surprise on the airfares. The second website that I am going to share with you today is called gcmap.com. So gcmap has a full name called “Great Circle Mapper”, which is going to help you to calculate the shortest distance between multiple places. In this website, it is useful for you to plan your air travel, because you may consider to use your air miles to redeem for your air tickets. So this website will be useful for you when you have no idea on how far between the two places for your air travel redemption. Let me use the frequent flyer program in Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon, which is Asia Miles, as an example. So this is the Asia Miles standard award chart, which is showing that how much miles will be deducted between the distance of the two destinations, and the cabin class. So if I want to redeem for a one-way ticket from Hong Kong to Taipei, for example, what I have to do in gcmap.com is to type the airport code of the two places. If you have no idea on what the airport code of the two places are, you can directly Google it. And the input format is the two airport codes, with a dash between them. With a dash between. So you can press the map button here. Then you can see the distance between two places are 501 nautical miles. So with this reference, you can know how much miles you will have to use to redeem for a one-way ticket. So for example, if I want to redeem an economy one-way ticket from Hong Kong to Taipei, then 7500 Asia Miles will be deducted. For business, then 16000 Asia Miles will be deducted for one-way. So this website will be useful for you when you want to use your air miles to redeem for air tickets, but you have no idea on how far the two distance are, so this website will be useful for you. The third website that I am going to share with you today is called wheretocredit.com. So this website is a mileage calculator website, that can help you to know how much miles you will be earned on every eligible frequent flyer program. So that means you can know how much miles you will be earned on different program. So how to do that? You can click the calculator button here And let me take an example for a route, for example from Hong Kong to Sydney, onboard Cathay Pacific Airways. And the fare class is Q class. For the fare class, you can know it when you finish your booking. And you can press the Show me button to know how much miles you can be earned on different frequent flyer programs. So you can see that there is a range between 11xx to 3xxx miles earned on different frequent flyer programs. So you can consider which program you can credit your miles in. So this website will be useful for those who haven’t started to earn their air miles, and they have no idea on where to credit their miles after they finished their air travel, so this website will be useful for them. So let’s consider another example. So this flight route I am going to choose here is from Tokyo Haneda Airport to London Heathrow, onboard All Nippon Airways flight. And the fare class is P class. And then again you press the Show me button. So by seeing the result here, you can see there are a wide variety of options that you can credit your miles in, ranging from 4000 miles to more than 11000 miles. So you can consider where to credit your miles into which frequent flyer program here. So this website can help you to decide which frequent flyer program you are going to start with, then you can credit your miles in. So these are the 3 websites that I want to share with you in this video, I hope you will find all of the 3 sites useful to you when you are planning your air travel.
