Infinite Flight GLOBAL: Landing Tutorial | How I Do My Landings

Hello everyone and welcome to today’s landing
tutorial. This is a highly requested video so here we
are Today I will be telling you how I do my landings,
and also giving some tips If you are watching this a while after its
uploaded, then you can turn on captions in English because youre in for some stutttering So let’s get started with descending, this
is a question i get asked a lot Basically if I am at 36,000 feet, and am 25
minutes minutes away from my destination I would reduce my speed and then descend at
-1000 FPM. I usually always start my descent around 25
minutes prior to arrival is cruising altitude is 36,000 feet. This is my go to method and I change the descend
rate depending on if I will be in a holding pattern or just going straight. Generally you want your altitude above sea
level to be around 2000 feet higher than the duration you have left to your destination Alright so now thats done, lets get this tutorial
started. Okay so here we are in an Emirates A380, on
final at Amsterdam Schipol. This is a manual landing by me under zero
weather conditions, you will see a weather landing next as well What is important is that you notice the ILS
(Instrument Landing System) in Infinite Flight basically every runway
has this however in the real world its not so plentiful This dial thing basically shows your heading,
and how linear you are to the runway along with being able to check runway heading and
runway number and so on Next up is the glide slope, this shows if
you are flying below or above the recommended altitude for landing Now that I told you probably the most important
things, Ill also like to tell the basics. For final approach to a runway, when you enter
that red zone, you should be at around 3000-3500 or so feet above GROUND LEVEL. You must keep this in mind because there is
altitude MSL and AGL, which mean measured at sea level and altitude at ground level
respectively. This dot basically represents where you are
going, so basically you will crash there if you dont pull up Now on all runways there is this landing zone,
basically two white strips, that is where you should be aiming to land For manual landings, calibration is important
to making sure that it is easy for you to manouvere the plane, for heavy planes sometimes
its advised that you calibrate the way shown so that there is extra pull on the yoke, again
this is optional but I recommend it Now you want to slowly reduce your speed to
try to land on the zone. The autopilot prefers to just cut throttle
however I prefer to keep using autopilot for my speed and reduce speed by a few knots every
time. I dont take manual control over the throttle
because I feel it makes it a bit harder to land So now you need to gently sit the nose down,
however i am not the best at that, and fire up the reverse thrust at around 60% or so,
I believe you can use brakes as well, however for long runways such as these I see no need
to do so. Keep doing this until you are below 30 knots
and then taxi off the runway and turn off the spoilers and retract the flaps a little
later Now it’s time to show a sort of landing
you might have to do often on multiplayer, that is, crosswinds, headwinds and such. Here we are on final at London Heathrow in
a Thai A380. Weve got 8 knots coming in from the right. Now you want to keep the dot thing aimed at
the runway and make sure the plane heading is linear. It does not matter if the actual plane is
not straight because we will use the rudder just before landing, just make sure you are
going straight onto the runway Use the rudder just before touch down Now just try to get the plane as striaight
as possible. Make sure you do most of the rudder stuff
just before touchdown because once you land it gets much harder to do so
Sadly the landings wont be exactly butter at these type of conditions however all that
matters so long as you make it in one piece and don’t skid off the runway For worse wind conditions it is the same theory
about the rudder and such. Just as I was finishing up writing this script,
I forgot to do a low visilibility landing. So we are in an Air New Zealand 777 on approach
to Mauritius. Visibility is around 1 kilometers which is
0.6 miles. Theres wind along with light turbulence this is the closest visibility to which I
was able to land on the runway and not beside it. Autopilot for anything but the speed proves
useless in such conditions so you are better off using manual Just try follow what the ILS shows and do
your thing once you see the runway Now just try to sit this down and get as straight
as possible As you can see I somewhat failed but as long
as the plane doesnt go way to the side then it is fine So this concludes this landing tutorial, I
hope you liked the fact that I tried to cover multiple conditions. Feel free to ask me for any clarification
because I know my voice cracks and stuterring is not the easiest to understand. Again, voice captions should be on the video
so feel free to enable them. If you have any ideas for videos, please let
me know its really appreciated. Thank you for watching and see you next time!

Subtitles are available so please enable them! I hope this tutorial was helpful to you. Sorry this wasn't up to the standard you may have been expecting. I will work to improve the quality of the commentary, cutting down on the "now." This is meant to be a quick tutorial on the basics of trying to get a good landing, which is why I didn't go into deep detail. Please let me know if there's any other sorts of tutorial-like videos you'd like me to do! Thank you for watching, and once again sorry for not replying to your comments! I've been busy with school and honestly being lazy. Please allow some more time once some tests are over. If you'd like to see a presentation on how the FIFA World Cup could affect the Russian aviation industry, please let me know since the video is already done but it's quite old now (around a month old).

Oh WOW..first time hearing your voice…very voice with the Indian Accent…i like how you said "that dial thing" it's saw great to be so natural in video (RAW)…love it…i also land rather similar to how you described it..that rudder control when it windy can be very tricky…BTW good video…HOW ARE YOU DOING RISHI???

You use the hud. but what if without the hud only cockpit windows which i do in every flight because it add a little professionalism xD

Wow, they were the most perfect landings in the history of Infinite Flight. Thanks, bro, and congratulations.

I notice you drag the rudder over and over. I always have trouble landing and using the rudder. Is this a useful technique you’ve found?

Hey, unrelated from the vid, do you record your vids in solo mode?

Related to the video: I’m Indian so we are family (only Indian kids will get this joke), and nice vid! Love the hard work you put into these vids man!

But what would nice is at 70 knops stall those reverser (stop using reverser thurst) at then apply brake that is a more realistic landing

This is not butter. Everything he explains is good except when you hear 30 slowly make the circle be align with the horison line

I have to say something. I landed my planes without flaps at 180 knots. Lol thanks rishi 😉
Also: how do you record? Replay or while flying?

U just did a 400 vs landing ahhaahhaha that's horrible. This is the worst vid u've made. Continue making timelapses

Jesus Christ that was bad, I've left IF forever. I reckon people's description of 'butter' is probably a -200fpm landing on IF, 500km down the runway from the TD point

Another good tip is at 30 – 40 feet is a good time to start flaring. Ideal touchdown rate -100. Note: Make sure to lower the throttle for flare

Great thanks for helping now i'm doing well in IF 🛩️ . But not that at all but doing my best , thanks a lot 🤗. And you are really indian ???? Your voice are not telling that you are indian 🇮🇳…….. Thanks a lot especially crosswind ❎landing which imposible🕺 for me ever , but now it really good than previous…. Thanks 🙂🙂

I really do like this game but what spoils it for me is the fact that I can't align properly to the runway. I don't want that to discourage me from the game.
