The winner of The Voice 2015 is.. Ellie Drennan! Hi, what’s your name? My name is Ellie Drennan and I’m 16. And I’m from the Central Coast. I’ve just never really felt like
I fit in at school. I found it really hard to be who
I am and stuff. And music helped me get through. She is very shy, very shy. So she
doesn’t come out in a group and talk a lot. She’ll keep very quiet. Once I start
singing I just feel like I’m in my own world. Especially writing songs, I was
able to put down my feelings and sing them. Instead of just saying them or holding them in. She just needs the confidence in herself to be
able to get out there and show people how good she is. Because, you know, we think she’s exceptional. Thank you for always supporting me,
it’s really special. I just want to give you a moment, ’cause the
audience got really really loud in that song. So what’s your favorite song to
sing? Sing anything, you know? Throwing you in the deep end. Welcome to team Jessie. I’m sorry but I have to go with Jessie J. Unhappy with that. I’m excited about you. Come in! Getting this far, being able to work
with Jessie, I am so excited. Ladies and gentlemen Shyjana and Ellie! Ellie and Shyjana, they’re both sixteen. But both very grown-up. Should we embrace first? Should we have a group hug? Should we give it a whirl? Awesome. Ellie and Shyjana are singing
‘Elastic Heart’. Technically it’s really tough to sing this song And when you haven’t
written a song, You always have to have a personal
connection to something that you’re singing. Has anyone in your life ever made you feel
like: you’re never gonna see me break? But I’ve got an elastic heart, but don’t push me too hard. Like situation like with school. And I go to an all-girls school… Just like
girls trying to put you down for not… Just trying… So you don’t feel
good enough to do things. They just put you down.
– Yeah. It definitely changed the atmosphere of the performance. Push each other, be each other’s support. But just remember it’s a battle. They’re both wonderful singers and I
feel like their big sister. I really am excited, like genuinely
quite excited to see them perform. You’re welcome. Both of your voices are like near
perfect. I mean really you guys I don’t know… I couldn’t choose. I loved working with
both of you guys. It felt like I was hanging out with my two little sisters. I don’t really see it as a competition. I see it as bootcamp. Especially when
you’re 16. It’s not about winning it’s about learning. So I’m gonna go with the person that I
feel is more experienced right now. And ready for the competition right now. And for me… That person hasn’t won, isn’t better than the other person. But that person is Ellie. Thank you. I’ve never experienced something like this. So it’s a big thing for me. I’m so excited for you. I want you to just
enjoy this because you’re so young. And I’m probably the most protective over
you than anyone else. I genuinely feel like your big sister, okay?
– Yeah. I look at Jessie J as a big sister and I
really hope that I do my best that I can. And I really don’t want to go home. We are on each other’s team. See I’m so proud of you and for you to be the youngest person that’s ever made it to the live shows… You just set a very high standard for
tonight. And vocally, technically, performance wise you’ve come so far. I’m so excited to be front row at so many performances of yours. I wanted to take Ellie somewhere that she could let go, be free and have some fun. We got through live show one, but live show two is only gonna get harder. You know all the pressures and stresses of the show. Let’s do it! I wanted to enjoy the talent she’s been given. And I wanted to enjoy the experience that she’s having. She relaxed, she forgot about what she
was doing and that’s the beauty of being on stage. Just being in the moment. And now we’re ready for live show two. The one thing I wanted to say to
Australia is that this is called ‘The Voice’. Right? Not the sympathy vote. So please vote for the person you want to see live and not the person you want to have coffee with. Ellie is a star, right? And I mean that in the most positive way. And that vocally and technically Ellie is one of the strongest vocalist here. And I’m so proud of how you stand up with ease.
You’re sixteen you’re so young. You just slide through it. What’s up sis? Not much, what about you? The song I’m doing this week is ‘California Dreaming’, the Sia version. I just don’t like it. I don’t want to go Pop with this, I think your cooler, your darker than that. You know? To me I see you
on the Ellie Goulding, … …Lorde side more, than me and Katy Perry. I just want to make it cooler. Jessie, she wants to change it a little bit but… …I still don’t know what the final product is
gonna be on the night. I’m really feeling the pressure now. I’m not the most competitive person but
I really really think you should win and I just… like… I think you’re amazing.
– Thank you. Ellie Drennan! And Jessie J crashing the stage. Ellie to the stage please, Ellie to the stage. I wanted to pick a song that lyrically, I could almost sing to you. I’m scared, it’s a Beyonce song.
– I know. Beyonce is like… Beyonce. I’m so excited and I’m nervous to sing with you. I’m nervous to sing with you.
– I’m nervous to sing with you. I could see your halo, hello! Come on! Are you in for a hug? This is the final and Ellie is the last
woman standing. I’m so proud of her. I’m so excited to be in the grand finale. Who’s been your biggest fan since day one? My parents.
– Me too. They’ve just always supported me even when I failed. They’re always there to pick me up. Sing to your mom and dad. I just adore my family and so… yeah it’s going to make me emotional again. Group hug! I found it really hard to relate to that
song. So I tried to think of all the people going through that type of emotion. So yeah… I found really hard to connect to it but I tried my best. I can’t… I can’t… I can’t even… I don’t know I’ve… Like really like, I’ve always said to you like it’s not even about winning. It’s not about winning, it’s
about the journey, you know? The journey is way more important than where you end up. And the amount of things that you’ve taken from this and you’ve put into your performances. Honestly if you go back to watch your blind audition to now… You know? You’re slowly on your way to becoming an artist and that’s why you’re here. And I’m so happy that I’m… I’m so happy that we’re friends. The winner of the Voice 2015 is… Ellie Drennan! Huge congratulations to Ellie Drennan, everyone! And team Jessie J!
